The Exploration Library continues a series of works that Méndez Blake has developed around the concept of Library. For him, the idea of the Library (a building historically used for the keeping of books and spreading of knowledge) surpasses its traditional definition. In Méndez Blake´s libraries, the building goes beyond a typical single construction. Instead he gathers from several different sources and joins them to create a micro system. These small systems, which are about a specific subject, -such as the Love Library, the Landscape Library or the Wall Library- range from audio works and wall-paintings to architectural models.
