This series, begun in 2015, is comprised of individual Time Paintings and installations. The main characteristic of the series is the use of a text taken from a work titled Time, 2014. The text is the artist’s observation on Contemporary society in which accelerated time ceases to be perceived as linear and becomes abstract. When events no longer follow one another but are so accelerated and therefore compressed into a single space, we are left with an impression of stasis. The black and white vinyl text is applied to different surfaces such as mirror, canvas and wood, and generally overpainted with aluminium paint. The text is original text and not appropriated. When the artist writes something new it appears in Arial black letters, while when he appropriates text it appears as handwriting. When paint and printed text appear in combination the effect is designed to create tension and contradiction.
