Since the early 1960s Marc Straus has been an avid contemporary collector, often supporting artists early in their careers and frequently acquiring challenging, monumental pieces. A medical oncologist for over 35 years as well as a published writer and poet, Straus along with his wife Livia founded the Hudson Valley Museum of Contemporary Art in Peekskill, New York in 2002.
