Isabelle D - Hanging By A Thread
Solo Exhibition

Hanging by a Thread, the third solo exhibition by French artist Isabelle D.
Running from April 17 to May 24, 2025, this new presentation revisits the celebrated themes of Isabelle D’s practice while introducing a fresh perspective on her artistic evolution. Taking its name from her’s first monograph, Hanging by a Thread reflects on her acclaimed presentation at Art Basel Miami Beach with her larger works to date of 105,000 hand made pieces.
In this new exhibition, Isabelle D presents a central large-scale piece alongside a collection of miniature versions of her signature work, offering a more intimate perspective on the themes that define her practice. These smaller pieces delve into ideas of vulnerability, resilience, and the delicate connections that shape our shared experiences.
Renowned for her precision and conceptual depth, Isabelle D’s work navigates the space between the monumental and the intricate, capturing the tension between individual fragility and collective strength. This exhibition underscores her ability to distill expansive concepts into refined, small-scale compositions that retain the impact of her larger works.
Hanging by a Thread reflects her ongoing evolution, blending meticulous craftsmanship with deeply resonant themes. It reimagines her practice through a fresh lens, demonstrating her adaptability while staying true to her artistic inquiry.
The exhibition opens on April 17, 2025, and runs until May 24, 2025. Additional programming—including an artist’s talk, book signing, and guided walkthrough—will offer deeper insights into her work and creative process.
