"Autonomous Avatar" explores the intersection of humans and machines – dance, AI, and virtual realities.

"Autonomous Avatar" by Tobias Staab is an immersive dance performance at the crossroads of human and machine, where the boundaries between analog and virtual reality blur. On a stage covered in flowers, two dancers take their first steps, fall and rise again, and struggle against invisible forces of gravity.

With the help of motion capture technology, their movements come to life in the form of computer-generated avatars, which move as glowing projections across the stage walls. The spectacle is accompanied by an AI-generated soundscape, while the distinctive voice of renowned actress Sandra Hüller floats through the space, drawing the audience deep into a hypnotic, almost surreal world.
