Meet the rising star of Bangkok’s gallery scene

Nova Contemporary’s Sutima Sucharitakul takes Thai art to new heights

‘Collecting contemporary art is not something very common in our community,’ says Nova Contemporary’s young founder Sutima Sucharitakul. So in 2016, she took things into her own hands and turned a former school in central Bangkok into an experimental art gallery. Fast-forward four years, and Nova Contemporary is firmly established as one of the leading lights of the Thai capital’s burgeoning art scene.

In the latest episode of our Meet the Gallerists series, Sucharitakul opens the doors of her gallery and takes Art Basel on a tour of Wat Arun, one of the temples that sparked her steadfast dedication to art.
