Chen Cheng-po Plum Garden, 1930 The Ukiyo-e style composition is often seen in Chen Cheng-po’s paintings. In the foreground of this painting is a small path leading the viewer towards the plum garden through the archway. Another path, curving by the lake, leads all the way up to the hill. The other trail crosses the bridge and leads towards a pavilion with thatched roof and a pavilion with cornices. The two figures resembling a parent and a child arouse even more idleness to the lake view.
