‘Disruptions’ in Miami Beach, December 3–8, 2019

Art Basel Cities brought Buenos Aires to Miami Beach with an outdoor exhibition in Collins Park, on view during the Art Basel show. ‘Disruptions’ presented six large-scale artworks by an array of intergenerational Argentine artists who share an interest in interactivity and environmental issues. Some 3,500 people visited the park, as the public was invited to explore and interact with the sculptures.

Art Basel Cities Talks Program in collaboration with arteBA Fundación, April 2019

During a key moment in April, Art Basel Cities presented a special edition of the ongoing Talks Program in Buenos Aires, featuring 42 speakers discussing topics for and with the local audience, from gender theory to curatorial activism to responsible patronage. The pan-latitude lineup included artists, curators, collections, art historians and critics, technology entrepreneurs, philosophers, museum directors, and more.

These large-format and intimate discussions took place in transparent domes at two locations between April 12 and 14: the arteBA fair at La Rural exposition center, and Plaza Intendente Seeber, as part of the Semana del Arte spearheaded by the city’s ministry of culture.

Centered around an outdoor salon in a city park in Palermo, festivities included art installations by Carlos Huffmann, Marie Orensanz, Luna Paiva, Margarita Paksa, and Mariana Telleria; more than 43 exhibitions at 22 cultural venues; the arteBA fair; and a cinema art cycle presented by the Buenos Aires Festival Internacional de Cine Independiente (BAFICI). Art Basel Cities was proud to partner with Buenos Aires for this celebration of contemporary art in the urban space.
